Andrew D. Kaplan
Producer, Writer, Director
Andrew D. Kaplan is a documentary filmmaker, nonfiction author, and adjunct professor of communication in Maryland. He holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Maryland, a B.A. from Yale University, and works as a writer-editor for the Bureau of Justice Assistance within the U.S. Department of Justice. Previous works include the 2020 documentary In Search of Walt Whitman, which aired on more than 75 PBS stations; the film In Search of Thoreau, about the life and works of Henry David Thoreau; and the book The Hidden Light, which explores the intersection of religion and spirituality. Edgar Allan Poe is one of Andrew's favorite writers and his favorite poem by Poe is "Annabel Lee."
Nora Krasniqi
Associate Producer
Nora Krasniqi studied Philosophy and Politics at Bard College Berlin. She is a writer, painter, and filmmaker who resides in Berlin, Germany. She has assisted with the design of academic courses in the field of Art History, and served as a guest lecturer. Nora is from Kosovo. She is currently working on an experimental novel, and on a short film inspired by Clarice Lispector, and is translating a collection of mystery short stories from the Albanian to the English language. She enjoys the Autumnal time, nocturnal bike journeys, long, contemplative walks in both natural and cemented spaces, jump rope, and ping pong.
Paul Synowiec
Voice of Edgar Allan Poe
Paul Synowiec (actor) earned a B.S. in Business from Indiana University, in case “everything he really wanted to do” failed. Over the past 30 years, he has acted in numerous Independent movies and community theater productions. Paul currently focuses on voiceover projects. He has also founded two Indie Rock bands and continues to compose and produce music. Through lyric writing, he has developed an appreciation for the written word, and thusly for Poe. He has still not used his B.S.
AR Hogan
Historical Consultant, Film Advisor, and Script Editor
Alfred Robert Hogan is a longtime science journalist and media historian based in Maryland. Hogan’s pieces on space exploration, environment and climate, health, veganism, animal rights, and history have appeared in myriad newspapers and magazines. In 2005, he earned a University of Maryland master’s degree in journalism, and he is now striving toward his PhD, focusing on the history of radio and television space coverage from 1922 to the present day. After contributing to more than 10 books, Hogan is researching and writing an in-depth bio book on teen environmental champion, “science nerd,” and ethical vegan Greta Thunberg and the climate emergency’s underlying science.
