Meet the Team

Andrew D. Kaplan

Producer, Writer, Director

Andrew D. Kaplan (Producer, Writer, Director) is a documentary filmmaker, nonfiction author, and adjunct professor of journalism. He holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Communication Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. in Humanities from Yale University. He works as a Writer-Editor for the Bureau of Justice Assistance within the U.S. Department of Justice. Previous works include the 3-hour, 2-part documentary In Search of Walt Whitman, which aired on more than 75 PBS TV stations; the film In Search of Thoreau, about the life and works of Henry David Thoreau; and the book The Hidden Light, which explores the intersection of religion and spirituality. Andrew loves traveling, cats, meditation, walks in nature, watching sports, and the cinema. His favorite movie is Somewhere In Time and favorite TV programs are Mad Men and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He resides in College Park, Maryland.

AR Hogan

Historical Consultant, Film Advisor, and Script Editor

Alfred Robert (AR) Hogan (Historical Consultant, Film Advisor, and Script Editor) is a longtime science journalist and media historian based in Maryland. Hogan’s pieces on space exploration, environment and climate, health, veganism, animal rights, and history have appeared in myriad newspapers and magazines. In 2005, he earned a University of Maryland master’s degree in journalism, and he is now striving toward his Ph.D., focusing on the history of radio and television space coverage from 1922 to 2022. After contributing to more than 10 books, Hogan is researching and writing an in-depth biography on teen environmental champion, “science nerd,” peace advocate, and ethical vegan Greta Thunberg and the climate emergency’s underlying science. He is also working on a young adult novel about a 1985 college newspaper newsroom run by four young women who are ethical vegans. He is also a progressive activist.

Nora Krasniqi assists in a variety of capacities. She studied Philosophy and Politics at Bard College Berlin. She is a writer, painter, and filmmaker who resides in Berlin, Germany.

Stelko Nikolov is our ace graphic artist and video editor. He also helped us with developing our website. He lives in Bulgaria and is wonderful to work with!

Justin Feltman is our accomplished videographer. He has made award-winning films and videos and his work has been seen nationally on PBS TV. He is the proud father of two cats: Stanley and Stella.
